An Anger Yet to Cease

"Live and Forget"

By Anne HolliPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Monstrous, what you endured

“We will never forget,” but our actions are unutterably contradictory

Taking for granted: friends, family, shelter

How?

It is rubbing salt in irremediable wounds

You were stripped of these things

No explanation… No reason at all

HATE... Hate separating you from the rest

Differently, we were designed, but, yet, not designed to be abhorred

The world claims what it does not know; its hypocrisy shines ever so bright!

They say, “the worst is behind us”

But mistakes previously made always creep into the present

DO THEY NOT?

“Live and learn" or "live and forget?”

I ask: Given our society,

In what way does it make a difference?

sad poetry
