Among the Trees

A Soul Sick Night

I walked a path unknown to me,

And hid within the trees

I was felt the weight of the world

Laid heavy on my lonely soul.

I called out for the beat of another heart,

but they never seem to match the rhythm.

Perhaps I am doomed to live in the solitude of my mind,

Lost among the trees.

I hoped by night my heart would heal,

Lost in the silence of a never still mind

The stars were a comfort but had no voices

To soothe my fears

With heavy eyes, I drifted off

And wished for a better tomorrow.

About the Creator

Antonia Humphrey

I would love to write a fascinating bio that covers all of my amazing achievements, however, I have none. I am an absolute mess of a human but I love to write and love to share my perception of the world in hopes that others will too.
