Can you please explain what this means?

Exactly when was it great?

When you hung the blacks from trees?

Was it when you marginalised the natives

Or led many to their deaths?

Or importing evil nazi doctors -

Just to get ahead?

Was it at the time of segregation?

Or the illegalisation of separation?

Or maybe during the great depression

When your people went unfed?

Was it the constitutional hate of gays?

Are you harping on about those fine days?

Or perhaps it's the civil war you miss?

And the slaves you gave away?

Please look back at your history

Though it's short, it's full of dismay

And realise the best version of you

Is who you are today!

Don't let your leaders tell you different

You're the land of the goddamn free!

And you have to be able to think for yourself

To have any freedom of speech...
