America, Darling.

An artist's job is to comment on society--hence this poem.

My purpose on this planet is not to judge, it’s to observe and admire.

And of course, to write fire!

But, I'm working on my humility--still.

The accolades and good grades didn’t amount to much beyond a few smiles and hand waves.

I love that so many people I know are abandoning achievement cults to become creators.

How can you hate a creator? When someone created you?

I don’t imagine you hate your mother too?

I can’t speak about that because I know you wouldn’t tell me the truth.

She messed you up so bad that being real is the only thing that scares you.

Therefore, you lie all the time.

The same way we all do.

Without purpose, without question.

DENY. DENY. DENY.

That piece of me that still lives inside you.
