Am I born of a Curse?
A poem about racism, and the thoughts I have about it.

Am I born of a curse?
That I may watch
as my brothers and sisters
Drop
Pools of red around their bodies
Caused by people we are supposed to trust?
People that are supposed to protect us?
Am I born of a curse?
That I may be called names
and be mistreated
For having the dark skin tone of my mothers before me?
Am I born of a curse?
That every unknown face
looks at me
with either pity or hatred
Am I born of a curse?
That I must remind people
that I am a human
and not an animal
Am I cursed?
Is the Black Nation cursed?
