Lifetimes of Love

Oh! There you are again…

At a table where we’d meet

In a different where and when

an outdoor cafe on a street.

I’ve waited all this life

To recognize your soul and face

Look in your eyes and feel your love

In “THIS” time and place.

You turn and see me staring

And I can tell by your surprise

It’s me full of love and caring

From all those other lives.

A different face, a different place,

Yet we always find each other

As our eyes and hearts embrace

Soul mates attracting one another.

Your brows furrow to remember

The times before, and then

A spark just like an ember

Tells you of the other where and when.

You’re not alone, and excuse yourself, standing up to leave

You approach me as I watch you, a young man in his prime,

I turn away embarrassed as you touch me on the sleeve,

“Have we met?” you ask; I answer, “Not in this lifetime.”

The love is there, we feel it,

Our smiles go from shy to bold,

Because we found each other once again,

But this time you are young and I am old.
