My place in the world

Alter me,

Please

Because this life

Scares me

I'm not fit to reside

And I won't be able to hide

Anyone could slip inside

And force me to

Grow a fucking parasite

Alter me,

Please

So I fit in this circus

Let me be the same

As the men in the tower

I can't help but cower

In my bed

When a man looks too long

Alter me

I just want somewhere to belong

I can't keep being this strong

And I don't know how to move on

The truth is

I resent the life I've been given

And I've been told this is a life sentence

Alter me

So I can be unafraid

So I can be remade

But for now

I'll just have to keep up the charade
