Along Came Jaan

[Verse 1]
Uncle Jim used to light up the star filled nights,
Boots on the floor, his hat tilted just right.
Texas Hill Country knew his name,
A honky-tonk king was his claim to fame
[Prechorus]
But the whiskey burned hard, and the years rolled by,
He’d laugh and say, "I’ll be single till I die."
[Chorus]
Then came Jan, with a spark in her eye,
A single mom with kids running wild.
She tamed his heart, made him a better man,
And Uncle Jim danced his last dance with Jan.
[Verse 2]
She had four kids and a world of pain
But her laugh could brighten the darkest day
So Jim traded late nights for supper at six,
Found love in the chaos of Jan's little mix.
[[Chorus]
Then came Jan, with a spark in her eye,
A single mom with kids running wild.
She tamed his heart, made him a better man,
And Uncle Jim danced his last dance with Jan.
[Bridge]
She left too soon a thief in the night,
Took the laughter, dimmed the light.
Uncle Jim wore her ring on a chain around his neck
He never took it off till the day he died
Oh the love Uncle Jim found when he met my Aunt Jan
[Chorus]
Then came Jan, with a spark in her eye,
A single mom with kids running wild.
She tamed his heart, made him a better man,
And Uncle Jim danced his last dance with Jan.
