Alone

The world goes on around me,

But I am alone.

The sun rises and sets,

But I am alone.

The people pass me by,

But I am alone.

Their laughter echoes in my ears,

But I am alone.

The sky is blue, the grass is green,

But I am alone.

The beauty of the world surrounds me,

But I am alone.

The tears stream down my face,

As I realize the truth.

That no matter where I go,

I am alone.

The emptiness inside me,

Is a heavy burden to bear.

And no matter how I try,

I can't escape this despair.

So I sit here in silence,

With my sadness as my only friend.

Alone in this world,

Until the very end.

Yes, that captures a strangely universal sense of loneliness. Well done!

That's so sad... The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.

  • Very powerful

Great job painting this melancholy picture of aloneness. We may have social lives, but at the end of every day. We are alone...

You did an amazing job evoking intense emotion with this one! Very raw and vulnerable.
