You let me into a fantasy that had us together,
the walls were no longer protecting my heart and letting you in,
willingly and lovingly.
I cut ties with everyone else that showed any inch of affection,
any semblance of yearning,
because my heart had spoken words it never dared give to anyone else.
It took the lead on this adventure and I was ready to go,
but you chose her.
You chose to fight an endless battle for someone who betrayed you,
over me,
and what we could be.
I love you
is what I said and meant,
but here I am eating my crow all alone.
