Almost Lovers...

She went from being hurt, feeling betrayed, humiliated, and destroyed. Having a complete lack of self confidence after being made to believe she wasn’t good enough for him. To feeling pity and praying for him.

She finally understood that it had nothing to do with her and everything to do with him. He betrayed his heart, for his image. For what made him feel like he was finally equal to his childhood friend who he’s always been in competition with. For what would make his mother and family happy. For what supported the image he so desperately wanted to portray. The enmeshment and group think he’s been conditioned with, over powered his soul. She had her own issues and never let them stand in the way of her love for him, she used to wish he was just as strong and that they’d be able to build a new legacy together, all while he was tearing her down. She now sees that everyone has a path, but not all are willing to embrace it. She led with her heart, while he led with his head, and now the connection is dead. She no longer mourns, but celebrates her freedom, for the best is yet to come.
