All You've Done

A Poem

By Erianna GilliamPublished about a year ago 1 min read

You've seen me simple

You've seen me prettified

You've heard me wicked

You've heard me mummified

You've felt me warm

You've felt me cold

You've listened to my lies

You've listened to the truth be told

You've watched me shrink

You've watched me grow

You've been told yes

You've been told no

You've known me always

You've known nothing

So how could you break my heart into tiny pieces?

I ask this question

Even though I've given you plenty of reason

But you made me feel like you loved me, in spite of it

Then you took it all away

I am angry with you, but I understand

You've loved me when no one else could

You've loved me when no one else would

For that, I am grateful

I release you.
