All Truth? All Lies?

A short poem

By Raven DiamondPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

All hope,

Seems to just be a dream

All hope,

For there is none in this land, it would seem

All love,

Has vanished from our hearts

All love,

Is gone from the wonderful arts

All peace,

Is replaced by war

All peace,

There seems to be no more

All life,

Is void from this land

All life,

Is reduced to just miles of sand

All truths,

Have unfairly died

All truths,

Are an evil lie

Is it all true or is "truth" just a sweet lie?

Backstory: So I was a rather angsty teen when I wrote this one and I had actually just found out something a friend told me wasn't the truth. It was a pretty big lie at that, so it broke a lot of my trust. Being true to the gothic outcast stereotype I ended up funneling the feelings into my writing.
