All She Never Was

Forget The Past

By Mercedes ChavezPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

In the realm of tender hearts, where love's sweet roses bloom and part,

A soul does yearn for affection's fire, beyond the shadow of past desire.

"Behold," it cries, "I am the dawn, the light that breaks the night's forlorn,

The one you seek in dreams so vast, a love to outshine memories past."

***********************************************

Yet whispers of a time before, like waves that kiss a distant shore,

Do haunt the present's gentle embrace, and trace old lines upon the face.

"Speak not of her who came and went, for I am here, my love's extent

Unmeasured as the boundless sea, unwavering, I pledge to thee."

**************************************************

For in this heart, no question lies, nor hesitation under skies

Of endless blue where eagles soar; I am the one you should adore.

Let bygones drift into the night, and in my arms find pure delight,

For I am all she never was, and in my love, find your cause.
