If you’re scared to try something new
because it feels strange,
Or just comfortable doing the tried and true.

Maybe you are just scared of change,
Enjoying being stuck in a rut.
But there is nothing wrong with idea exchange.

No one will look at you like you’re a nut.
Most folk will think you are hip.
If you don’t try new things, then you're a boring butt.

So why don’t you get a grip?
Nothing is too odd to learn.
Do you want a great tip?
*
Why don’t you go ahead and take a turn
Step out of your comfort zone and do something alien.
You can’t grow if everything is a concern.

Day 4 of Quitting
If this is how sobriety feels, maybe it’s better to go through life a little buzzed… this, along with other hits like, I want to kill myself, I wish I was dead, and I’m going to throw myself off a bridge have been the only thoughts on rotation these past few days. I promise myself that if, in a month, I still feel like this (‘this’ meaning despondent, full of rage, and simultaneously numb) I can go back to smoking. Until mid-February though? Nicotine is off the table.
