Alexandra

A poem about being swallowed up by the sorrow. TW for depression and mentions of taking one's own life.

By Cat the AutistPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

Alexandra was always drowning in

An ocean of her relentless weeping.

Poor child. Will this sorrow ever end?

Alexandra had constantly fallen

Into a pit of endless suffering.

Silly girl. Will you soon be forgotten?

Alexandra always felt so trapped in

Her home, even though she was free to leave.

Simple thing. Have you no ounce of passion?

Alexandra had always forgotten

She didn't need to practice self-loathing.

Poor thing. Will you let your life be eaten?

Alexandra always laid bedridden

And refused to possess a single sweet dream.

Dear Child of Sorrow, please awaken!

Alexandra once wished her life would end,

But then she put together an army

To go to battle with her depression.

Beautiful Warrior. I hope you win.
