you died today, and i lied

about being able to stay clean,

about an interest in meetings when you won’t be there,

about my desire to felo de se,

about entanglements with long strands of heavy wool hanging from boughs thick with envy.

I am a non-binary, trans-masc writer. I work to dismantle internalized structures of oppression, such as the gender binary, class, and race. My writing is personal but anecdotally points to a larger political picture of systemic injustice.
