After Pride

The morning after pride, I wake up with mixed emotions.

Will the mainstream love of my community continue with year-round devotion?

Or will it go back to the way it has always been?

Is acceptance a flash in the pan?

Just a hashtag to trend?

Or could finally being treated as less than be at an end?

To the rest of the world, one month is LGBT pride.

Can the love continue to ride?

Ride year round and never cease.

All my hopes and prayers that this is the year, it won't decrease.

Yes, mixed emotions of fear and hope.

The goal of true equality finally within my scope.
