Adventuresome Explorer

A boys dream of escape

From the heights of Mount Everest

To the depths of the Marianas Trench

I shall walk, run, climb, swim and dive

You cannot keep me on the bench!

**********************************

My life shall be lived for adventure

Not for me the timidity of a mouse

Suitcase and backpack packed and waiting

It’s time to step forth from this house

**********************************

I have rapelling gear, climbing pitons, gloves galore

Wet suit, oxygen tanks, rope, knife, and spearing gun

Shall I dive the ocean, hunt a tiger, spear a whale?

Or experience oxygen deprivation just for fun

**********************************

One last inventory, oh yes… don’t forget the food

Traps for bears, rods for fish, bandages just in case

I think I’m ready now… Time to hit the road

Just need to fix my hiking boots or I’ll go no place

**********************************

What’s that Mom? Dinner is ready?

Oh darn! Please, just one more round!

It took forever to raise all these levels!

Yes ma’am. Sorry. Come on silly old hound.

*********************

*********************

Perhaps I should have called this one “A Millenial Adventure”

🤣🤣🤣

Man, wish I could join on this adventure! Nice work!

  • Sorry for my love for dark humour but i laughed at this line, "Or experience oxygen deprivation just for fun" because it reminded me of the OceanGate submarine 🤣 Loved your poem!

Some small errors in this - e.g. Adeventurer? - but I liked the theme and drive of this one. Keep moving!
