Dopamine is that “feel good” hormone everyone talks about. When an addict does drugs, they have an increase in dopamine.

When you make eye contact,

And then they like you back,

It feels good.

When they ask you on a date,

And you hide your excitement at your sudden turn of fate,

It feels good.

When You stay up late just so you can talk,

Their interest comes as a shock,

It feels good.

When you can’t hide your anticipation for them to hold your hand,

And then it happens acting as if it was unplanned,

It feels good.

Your breathing and your heart beat get a little faster,

Thinking about the kiss that you’ve been chasing after,

It feels good.

You’ve finally got what you’ve been looking for,

But your addiction leaves you wanting more.
