Actions Speak Louder

You say "I love you";

but you don't even tend the garden,

or pull the weeds.

You say "I love you";

But you sit behind stony walls,

upon a throne of apathy.

You say "I love you";

but you bring crumbs to the feast,

and pour only drips of water,

into empty cups.

You say "I love you";

but you lie in a battlefield

of unhealed trauma,

refusing to pick up your sword,

and fight your own demons,

making HER the casualty.

You don't get to say "I love you"

anymore.
