Across the Room a Puzzle

Strangers and Puzzles, who could ask for more?

Across the room; a stranger

A stranger looking shy

Across the room; a smile

You're asking yourself: 'why?'

Did I drop something?

Is there something on my face?

How do I check this subtly?

How check with grace?

The stranger's walking forward

Perhaps you think to run

Strangers are often weirdos

And weirdos are no fun

But there is something kind

That lives in this stranger's eyes

Something patient, something gentle

A truly rare find

A stranger says hello

Asks if you have the time

A stranger tries to use

A cheesy pick up line

But somehow it is charming

So, 'Let's see how this goes'

You exchange numbers,

Because, eh, who knows?

Across the room a stranger

In all their awkward glory

Across the room lies years of bliss

There lies a love story

The thing about puzzle pieces

Is that they don't change to fit

They lock eyes across the room

And that is simply it.
