A poem by Chazz Boyd.

where do i fit on the pallet?

i’ve been categorized my entire life

never putting my own label on the bottle

“he’s too white to be black”

“he’s too black to be white”

i guess they’ll only see a mess of colors

around a mind just as confused

where do i fit on the rainbow?

i’ve been categorized my entire life

never showing my true colors in the sky

“oh, he’s gay, i can tell”

“oh, he’s straight? she’s not male”

i guess they’ll only see a mess of colors

around a mind just as confused

inspirational
