According To My Repeating History

No, not again...

Again

Waking up

Looking for some light

Looking for a break in the clouds

Again

Searching for the sun

And after it sets, simply surviving the night

Fighting through shrouds

Everyday

While Despair tries to pull me under

Reaching for a hope I cannot see

This rope has endured, with much patience

Everyday

While Agony pulls me apart, one thought after another

Desperately, I am treading this sea

Enduring this sentence

Everyday

Has its own trouble, trial, and tribulation

As a prisoner of Despair

My eyes have about lost their color

Again

A very particular, and dangerous wish of mine grows in temptation

To speak such a thing, I cannot dare

But with every night they falls, I fear I might not survive another

Again

My eyes shut

Tasked with enduring the night

Hoping that tomorrow, some sunlight will finally come around

About the Creator

Josh Morgan

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
