Acceptance: The Quiet Power
The Quiet Power of Accepting What Cannot Be Changed
Some hurts must be digested alone; some regrets can only be regarded with lightness; some pain can only be soothed in solitude.
Certain truths aren't unknown, but even with that knowledge, what can one truly do? Powerlessness remains powerlessness, and what cannot be changed, simply cannot be changed. It is often wiser to feign ignorance and accept what's happening; at least that saves unnecessary struggle. If things consistently defy your wishes or disappoint your expectations, then knowing or not knowing truly makes little difference.
Some love isn't about a lack of persistence, but rather, what good is persistence if the outcome is fixed? If you're not loved, you're not loved. If you can't start over, you can't start over. Instead of nagging or clinging, it's better to stop when you've reached a certain point; this, at least, grants greater peace. If you find yourself perpetually helpless or in a state of embarrassment, then the decision to persist or not is merely an illusion.
Some people are not about a lack of care, but even if you do care, what can you achieve? To open your heart and soul only to be met with cruelty, and to offer good intentions only to face indifference. Rather than humbling yourself to the point of—it is profoundly better to be alone. If you are constantly sad or wronged, no matter how much you care, you will ultimately be the one suffering.
Some things can only be kept deep in the heart; some loves can only be treasured as memories; some people can only be kept at a distance.
We live this life for joy and happiness, not for suffering and torment.
Some processes are better left to one's own quiet understanding. There is no need to dwell on them, no need to constantly look back, and even less of a need to linger.
The facts are the facts. No matter how much you dwell, look back, or linger, the outcome will not change. So, why bother?
