Abuse

Leaving them scarred and forever grieving

By Ahamed ThousifPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

Abuse is a very harsh and harsh word

A wound that never fades

It strikes the innocent, without a warning

Leaving them scarred and forever grieving

It comes in many forms, seen and unseen

From physical pain to derogatory words

It knows no boundaries, no race

It can happen anywhere, anywhere

It starts with a small spark, a rage

But soon it turns into a fiery flame

An abuser is a monster in disguise

Feeding on the cry of the victim

The bruises may fade, but the pain remains

Scars may heal, but memories last

The cycle continues, an endless cycle

Leaving the victim trapped and feeling like an idiot

They say love is blind but in this case

It is the abuser who hides behind the mask of kindness

I promise to change and never hurt again

But it is always the victim who bears the pain

Abuse is a word that should never exist

But it is an undeniable fact

We must raise our voices and break the silence

And despite, stand together

We must be the light in the darkness of abuse

Provides support and a haven

For long-term sufferers

We need to help them find their voice and be strong

Abuse is a very hurtful word

But we can make a difference, break the chain

Let's spread love and compassion instead

A world without abuse is a truly blessed world.
