The birthday came and went,
almost as if we had dreamt.
Now, a fond memory,
today, possessing less energy.
She thought it was the best,
so, we're feeling blessed.
Charged for another year,
into Kindergarten, she will steer.
Gifts to play with and enjoy,
new experiences to employ.
New clothes to wear out,
as she grows like a sprout.
Eyeing the last piece of leftover cake,
wondering, mostly for her sake.
Wishing for her life to go great,
while we observe her every trait.
Life has such powerful meaning,
as we reminisce, faces ever-gleaming.
What will this next year bring,
as we listen to her life song sing?

Haha, that last bit about eyeing the last piece of cake? Classic parent move! 😆
