A World Without Borders

A dream I still believe

I dream of a glistening jewel

blue and green

perfect and pristine

not guarded with barbed wire

crisscrossed with black marker lines

chopped up and divided

with only a payout in mind

⋆⭒˚.⋆🌍🌎🌏 ⋆⭒˚.⋆

I dream of a land

connected and free

not sea-to-sea

peace and freedom

shining like a beacon

from the Earth in its entirety

my hands are weary shaking

with the weight of

all those still shackled to

fate, the inhumanity of war

as puppets on strings

hold mock debates

⋆⭒˚.⋆🌍🌎🌏 ⋆⭒˚.⋆

I dream of people

seemingly

infinite in supply

each is precious

beyond all comprehension

yet somehow definable

in the blink of an eye

sight can be deceiving

how many angels

have you held back

chained to the ground

just to prove

no one can really fly

⋆⭒˚.⋆🌍🌎🌏 ⋆⭒˚.⋆

I dream of flying pigs

because peace I know

is a reality in weary hearts

the world over

we have only

to pour out understanding

give peace away

the most expensive gift

costing face and feuds gone untried

⋆⭒˚.⋆🌍🌎🌏 ⋆⭒˚.⋆

I dream of a clear future

unburdened of the past

hard won for many

to walk away

seems a disrespect to some

yet the cake comes out

of the oven the second

it's baked, not before or

to be left overdone

⋆⭒˚.⋆🌍🌎🌏 ⋆⭒˚.⋆

I dream that we can

eschew hate the poisoned fruit

sickening each generation

as they’re handed down a piece

given a taste

⋆⭒˚.⋆🌍🌎🌏 ⋆⭒˚.⋆

I dream Peace, joy, and love

are far sweeter a flavor

let us acquire a want

to accomplish the goals

that all in our past have striven

to achieve

yet some fall as

they find it’s not within

their weakening grasp

grappling with human frailty

is no easy task

⋆⭒˚.⋆🌍🌎🌏 ⋆⭒˚.⋆

I dream of a world without

borders, without

bigotry, without

bullies, without

hate

⋆⭒˚.⋆🌍🌎🌏 ⋆⭒˚.⋆

I dream of Peace

Imagine that

K.B. Silver

It has been a rough couple months for me, and I just realized this morning that I missed putting this out for the International day of Peace on September 21. It's never too late for peace.
