A Wish That Came True

The golden ball of light.

Hanging high-up in the sky.

Known to combat the darkness.

& Illimunate the world.

Is now a source of problem.

With no blowing wind.

& the temperature above 40ยฐ.

I wish it was still winter.

But it is a wishful thinking.

A possible wish is what I am trying to find.

Aha! I got it.

I wish for a drizzle.

Is what I am praying for.

Hours by hours pass.

But the sky is clear.

Void of clouds.

A prayer is a hope.

To save me from this heat.

Few moments of rest is what I need.

I close my eyes and lay down.

Telling myself I will rest my eyes for a second.

Unknowingly I dozed off.

Boom! I am jostled awake.

My heart is beating erratically in my chest.

Rubbing my eyes.

I look around.

Just what happened.

Why is it so dark?

Did a burglar break in?

Reaching forward I grasped an umbrella.

From the stand.

Moving forward, practicing caution.

Another 'Boom!' & the windows rattled.

Peeking out I saw the clear sky.

Now covered in dark, grey, gloomy clouds.

My prayer is answered.

Whooping in delight.

I let the umbrella go.

Feeling silly.

I sat by the window.

Enjoying the cool blowing wind.

Another 'Boom'..

& the rain came pouring down.

Big fat rain drops descended the sky.

Pitter-patter echoed.

As I sit by the window.

Enjoying the climate.

With a cup of milk & a plate of cookies.
