A WINTER'S STORM

At one time we were once friends;

That rode together only to come to

a dead end.

In my own historic chapters,

I was so young caught in a maze of love.

I had to let go like releasing an

imprisoned dove;

And in my heart the fire burned every

Memory to the stake,

Until the day you called out my name;

And we stood there face-to-face.

Your smile brought back a lot of

good memories;

That had nothing to do with astrology.

Through it all like a winter's storm;

I hugged you tight before you walked

out the door,

You hurt me once,

And I cried tears of blood.

That was then, this is now.

And I am not going to allow you to bury me under the ground,

Like a winter storm with snow falling down.

You and I are friends,

Nothing more nothing less.

All that you say and do I know it's just a test.

With your cologne and the way you dress,

I lose direction not knowing whether to turn right or left.

You're like a winter storm,

Dangerous, unpredictable, and deceiving

to the core.
