A Verdict Juiced

Getting Away With Murder

By Earl W. PearlPublished 2 years ago Updated 2 years ago 1 min read

Justice in America gets served a different way

When weighted towards those with the ability to pay

When someone has the means then their acquittal is the goal

A “Dream Team” of attorneys pawning justice that they stole

Despite the solid evidence most thought was iron clad

Incompetence dictated that the verdict could be “had”

What happened to the ethics that injustice would replace

A comedy of errors turned conviction towards “race”

The trial took on an atmosphere to keep us entertained

Ignoring that third blood type on a walkway badly stained

The crime scene showed the aftermath of man’s unbridled sin

When rage and angry hatred release demons from within

What soothes a wicked, darkened soul is anybody’s guess

When truth that’s buried deep inside, one chooses to suppress

Confessions from a deathbed is how some choose to behave

However though in this case one took secrets to the grave

Yet, even when the unrepentant longs to pass away

They still will meet their Maker and be faced with “Judgment Day”
