A Touch That Stayed After
Your touch remained there,
Long after night,
Stirring my senses,
Faint as a light.
It held my breathing,
Close to your own,
Keeping my heartbeat,
Never alone.
Your laugh came back to me,
Bright as a flame,
Softening edges,
Calling my name.
I closed my eyes then,
Letting it flow,
Feeling the warmth of,
All you bestow.
Your presence lingered,
Calm in my chest,
Filling the spaces,
Long left to rest.
I walked in daylight,
Carrying you,
Knowing that love stays,
Deep and true.
Your name turned gentle,
Light on my tongue,
Echoing stories,
Still to be sung.
Long after parting,
Your warmth remains,
Holding my spirit,
Easing all pains.

I've been writing poetry since the age of fourteen. With pen in hand, I wander through realms unseen. The pen holds power; ink reveals hidden thoughts. A poet may speak truth or weave a tale. You decide. Let pen and ink capture your mind❤️
