A time when you laughed

In my younger days, when life was new,

I smiled with joy, my heart anew.

It is a time of joy, a time of play,

When laughter filled my days and nights.

The sun will shine, the birds will sing,

I, a child, would dance and jump.

My worries were few, my heart was light,

And laughter filled my life with joy.

I remember one day, so vividly,

As the laughter erupted, a pure joy.

We played a game, a funny one,

And laughter burst forth, like the bursting of the sun.

Our sides hurt, our stomachs hurt,

But the laughter never left, never parted.

We laughed till we cried, we cried till we laughed,

At that moment, life was half caught.

The world is mine, a playful place,

Where laughter reigned, joy filled the place.

Though those days are gone, their grace

All that remains is a memory, a smile on my face.
