A thousand kinds of one colour
(There’s no need to try so hard)
By Brendan WelchPublished 5 years ago • 1 min read

There’s a thousand colours here
There’s a thousand kinds of one colour here
There’s no light here
There’s light here constantly
The shadow is this long for this long
At this angle at this time here
Then there’s a levelling wind and it’s all changed
And we start again
—
There’s a thousand colours here
There’s a thousand kinds of one colour here
Left and right are inadequate here
Up and down is side to side
Round and round is all diagonals
And then there’s a levelling wind
And we start again.
Everything seems bolted in its place
But it only looks that way
So let it come. Let it go. Let it be just as it was.
There’s no need to try so hard
