A Thief In My Mind

You're always bothering me, questioning me, arguing with me... Why can't you just leave me be?

Angst‐

You, in all your discomfort‐

you chase me down,

hold me up,

and stand right by my side,

even as I wish to be left alone.

You, in all your discomfort‐

you make sure that I don't get any rest,

forcing yourself into my sight,

keeping me stuck,

hoping I drown.

You, in all your discomfort‐

keep me in this rut

through every day

and in every night

until there's nothing left.

Angst‐

You, in all your discomfort‐

you construe caos in my heart,

you are a thief in my mind‐

you turn time against me,

and fear is your art‐

keeping me at speed,

never letting me slow down‐

driving me until I crash,

robbing me of all peace.

Angst‐

you are...

in all your discomfort,

a thief in my mind.

About the Creator

Josh Morgan

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
