It's a terrible reason

to love someone simply for

acknowledging your existence

but I've discovered thats all it takes

for me

all the boys I've liked

had this one thing in common

they were the only ones

to pay attentnion to me

maybe I'm too quiet

maybe it's the way I look

maybe I seem intimidating

or like I just hate everyone

but most stayed away

excpet for those few

and then there was You

paying attention took on a whole new meaning

I was important

worthy of your time

and your interest

and your effort

and I loved you so much for it

because no one else seemed to see me
