Oh my beautiful majestic kitty
How you love to sit so pretty!
You always surprise me with your new spots you find to lounge in.
And mornings with you always bring such joy.
But tell me why,
My darling pet!
You inspire in sitting on such a small ledge!
Pleading to be petted and showing off your belly.
High on the ledge above my bed,
Looking at me ever so lovingly.
You roll and demand to be petted.
And I’ve warned you.
You’re going to fall if you keep rolling like that
But I do suppose you are a cat.
And you must think yourself to be smart and nimble.
And well I think your rather sharp.
And make a great string catcher.
It’s simple gravity my dear
And you will have to bow down to it too.
But alas! You do not heed such warnings
And continue to roll softly
Until you’ve unbalanced yourself
And with a meow of protest,
You come crashing down on my head.
I try to console you and pet your silly head
But if your tail tells me anything
I think this may just be how a cat finds herself to be embarrassed.
As she flicks her tail and stubbornly walks away.
