Words of abuse are a raining torrent
The hurricane, dissolving your shore,
The tornado, destroying all you’ve built,
The hail storm, beating and crushing,
and a flash flood, washing the rest of you away…
Words are a storm
Words of kindness are a drenching rain
Precipitation soaking the desert of your mind
The drenching rain from which life grows
The treasured kiss of liquid sunshine
Words are a storm
from subtle slight to powerful praise
from the destructive to life giving
All words are a life-altering storm….
For good or ill, you own your words…
