A Sonnet for Randy Baker's Prompted #5
Imaginary islands are places
Filled with salty peace, cradled by water
The sun kisses their denizens’ faces
Each one wisdom’s son, or joy’s sweet daughter
Justice and benevolence write their laws
Their sandy shores supply tranquil solace
Their beauty transcends what any hand draws
Every love they host is pure, flawless
Nowhere is an implausible, strange place
Where competition melts into embrace
Where sins, heralding wretched, dark disgrace
Are in a moment healed with smiling grace
See this island, on your heart’s horizon
Guided by these words, join me there—come on!

Beautiful writing. I love sonnets. Very cool take on the challenge. Only word of critique is that, as I understand it, a sonnet should end with a questioning couplet. But otherwise, loved your slice of paradise.
