A Son's Gratitude

My dearest Father,

As I pen these lines, my heart doth overflow,

With gratitude and reverence, for all thou hast bestowed,

Throughout my life, thou hast been my guiding light,

A beacon of hope, shining ever so bright.

I recollect those days, when life was harsh and bleak,

And thou didst work unceasingly, without a single tweak,

To provide for me and my siblings, a life of ease,

And to quell our fears, and help us chase our dreams.

Now, as I have grown and achieved success,

I am reminded of thy unwavering tenderness,

And how thou didst sacrifice, to see me soar,

And to offer me a life, that was so much more.

Thus, with a heart full of love and deep esteem,

I humbly write this letter, with the utmost esteem,

To thank thee for all thou hast done, and more,

And to pledge my loyalty, forevermore.

For thou art the foundation, upon which I stand,

A symbol of strength, a hero in this land,

And I shall forever be in thy debt,

For the love and care, that thou hast beset.
