A simple recipe to cure the heart’s kuchisabishii

(Kuchisabishii is the Japanese word for ‘lonely mouth’)

1. Beat the granules of lovers past till they dissolve into buttercream memories

2. Sprinkle in a liberal dose of folk who make you feel good: the wingmen, the hype girls, the ones who keep believing in you even when you’ve forgotten how to love yourself

3. Add a restrained pinch of people who will give you the rock salt of tough love nobody else has the guts to feed to you

4. Gently fold in good eggs that will help you collectively rise

5. Discard the shells of those who leave you empty

6. Give this glorious mixture time to transform

7. Enjoy The Unbearable Lightness of Friendship
