A Sign Of The Times

I used to think that happily ever after was only make believe,

that the world was a balance between hope and disappointment,

and only those lucky to make it would the love within the hope emerge.

One day, I found myself in a new world,

one that I felt free and found the hope that was once promised to me,

and eventually became the person I was meant to be.

Leaving the old life behind

opening my eyes to the sign of something new

bold and beautiful.

The disappointment turned to hope
