A Sigh’s Lifetime

The Agony of Love and the Dance of Destiny.

By Humara kalimPublished 9 months ago 1 min read

A sigh needs a lifetime to take effect,

Just as it takes time for tangled locks to unfurl.

A hundred desires drown in the waves of time,

What can be done? Patience must hold its ground.

Love demands patience, yet is utterly restless,

What color can the heart take but the crimson of sacrifice?

Until Judgment Day, I’d spend my life in nights of separation,

If only I could witness one more dawn with you.

Do not ask what awaits in the end,

For even my dust may bring you no good.

From your fiery glance, I learn the lesson of annihilation,

Yet in that destruction lies a gaze of divine grace.

One glance is enough—don’t miss the chance, careless one!

In the heat of youth, let there be a dance of passion.

The pain of separation has no cure but death,

Like a candle burning bright, my life fades in enchantment.
