The air glazed with the scent of

heady

humid

honey

ripe with anticipation. . .

fingers reach for flowering core

tendril of

pearl

Exposing…

A delicate violence.

As lips c a t c h

ambrosia,

Warm fleshy tongue

Savoring… in the

Heat...

As the canopy of trees part

into

o p e n f i e l d, flowering shrubs turn toward

Apollo in honor of

Clytie’s

eternal devotion.

devotion

Devotion to the Sun.

Dozens of little yellows

and holly blues dance in the gentle wind

Innocent wings

spilling secrets of summer desire.

A Monarch

gracefully travels to the far beyond.

Heart

break never felt so...

beautiful.

About the Creator

Michele Nampalli

This space is breath for my sensitivity. The poems come fully formed. I've known for quite some time now that my art is about receiving more than creation...its the most natural way I know to process my inner world. It started when I was 7.
