A ring of gold

Eternity

By Emily McGuffPublished 12 months ago 1 min read

A ring of gold

wraps like twine,

braided and frayed,

around an iris.

-

It glows,

pulses with promise

and hope and futures

not yet written.

-

At 38, I thought

it would be on my finger

Instead it is

in my dimmed reflection.

-

Youth is a memory.

But self-love - eternity.

Very sweet. So many people will relate to being eager to find that One True person... but so many people are also uncertain how to find love & respect for themselves. I'm Bill a.k.a. Bolt. I subscribed to you. ⚡💙⚡

Always a bridesmaid never a bride. For a lot of us that are older than 38 youth is a memory. I hope you feel better soon. Well Done!!
