A Quintessential Holiday
Abecedarium poem- Poppy's Prompts December Edition

A holiday full of charm
Begins with trip to a Christmas tree farm
Cutting down one’s own tree
Deep in the new fallen snow
Everyone sings holiday songs which
Fuels the heart with a jolly spirit
Gingerbread cookies in children’s
Hands, balancing hot cocoa
In the other.
Jingling bells on evergreen wreaths,
Knotted with velvet red bows.
Loving couples standing under the Mistletoe
Making “smacking” sounds, giving customers a show,
Needless to say, all the parents hurried their little
Ones away.
Promises were made on who could put the star up on the
Quintessential Christmas tree that stood in the
Rustic living room, decorated with
Santa ornaments, some adorn with
Tinsel and holly
Ubiquitous is what
Visitors would say
When their eyes gazed upon one Santa with his reindeer playing the
Xylophone!
Yes, a trip to a tree farm, birthed a
Zealous spirit fills us all this holiday season!
