A Quest for Better

I should have asked for better,

Instead of settling for less,

I should have sought out the treasure,

And not settled for second best.

I should have demanded more,

And not accepted what was given,

I should have opened up the door,

To a life that's truly livin'.

I should have spoken up,

And voiced my true desires,

I should have filled my cup,

With dreams that never tire.

I should have asked for better,

And never settled for just okay,

I should have been a go-getter,

And chased my dreams each day.

So now I'll make a change,

And ask for what I deserve,

I'll no longer stay in my range,

I'll reach for the stars with nerve.

I should have asked for better,

And now I finally see,

I'll be a go-getter,

And live my life more free.
