Who would have thought
I will have my first
Commitment ring in June
Most women dream to be a June bride
To be wed on an 8, 18 or 28
For some culture, belief and tradition
signify infinity which I reckon
Are all couples goal and what they are hoping for
To stay together forever.
To be given a ring of promise
on the 18th of June
Is not even in my wildest imagination
Nor I see it coming in my peripheral vision
It is indeed a blessing
worth celebrating
God works in mysterious ways
He is a God full of surprises.
With this ring I commit to love you forever
To support you in all things that give you laughter
I commit to take care of myself for you
So we can climb mountains,
explore the world and travel to exciting places.
I commit to loving our God, myself and you
Every second of the day
In whatever form I can display
the admiration, adoration and affection I have for you.
Everywhere I look only you I see
I long for you so badly I can swim across the sea
To reach to you and be with you.
I can't wait to see you again
To hold you, touch you, feel your body next to mine
To wake up in the morning seeing you by my side
I can't wait to see our future
To decide where to live
To design our own place
To plan what to do and set goals for the next 6 years
To dream and discover and actualize our potentials
To live the life God has prepared for us
I simply can't wait...
Am thrilled and ecstatic...

This poem captures a deep and committed love... The author talk about their devotion and hope for a future together, saying she is willing to cross to sea to be with her beloved.... Mentioning the next six years hints at a long history and shared dreams...
Emotional and relatable, commitment is such a wonderful thing, if done to the right person
The longing here was so intense and your poem was so wonderful! I loved it!
