A Prenuptial Agreement
Before the vows, before the dance,
We craft a pact, a measured course.
Not of love, for hearts are free,
But of fairness, for you and me.
In ink we trace what we foresee,
A map to life’s uncertainty.
Not to shadow the love we share,
But to honor it with thoughtful care.
For love is boundless, yet life can shift,
And dreams may wander, drifting anew.
This is not doubt, nor lack of trust,
But a safeguard built on what is just.
Here we stand with open hearts,
Two lifes entwined, two worlds to chart.
This pact a promise, clear and true,
To cherish me, as I cherish you.
And if it all falls apart,
We end with nothing but a broken heart.
We’ll keep our wealth, our belongings too,
In hope it never happens, to us two.
Like our love, two perfect flowers.
Guarded against life’s little showers.

I've been writing poetry since the age of fourteen. With pen in hand, I wander through realms unseen. The pen holds power; ink reveals hidden thoughts. A poet may speak truth or weave a tale. You decide. Let pen and ink capture your mind❤️
