A Poetic Day Breaks
As Submitted To The Light Breaks Water Challenge

Lake crystal, placid and clear
Awaiting an early morning spear
Sharp glowing light
Waking up from the dark night
Soon attractions
Entertaining cooling distractions
Will fill the day
Exciting activities should stay
But right now,
Evening takes its final bow
Deep breathe inhaling fresh air
Welcoming the dawning affair
Moisty dew
Praying mantis occupying a grassy pew
Setting, impossible to compare
Should be shared
When we come together
Embracing tranquil weather
Experiencing things honest and true
Underneath the sky aqua blue
Hearing popping sounds
Fishes jumping all around
Realizing the pond, we found
Produces the best angler filets in town
Grilled or fried
Happiness, we do not deny
As the heat comes then goes
May I propose
When everything gets cold
Our cabin tent will not fold
Instead, we stoke a fire
Dancing flames to admire
Finding good in both challenging environmental worlds
Respecting a life wearing natural pearls
Twelve months a year
Revolving sunny yellow bulb appears
Hiding when heaven unleashes tears
Watering the earth
And its pasture turf
Healthy and green
Next to a bubbling stream
Where we go to think
Since it all may be gone in a blink
Shall I inform,
Cherish, where one is born
These are just things
I ponder, when flexing my angelic wings
Peacefully sitting on the riverbank
Giving many, humble thanks
